Between the Blinds

I came across an image of the Lonely Tree of Tenere, an acacia standing alone in the vast, hostile expanse of the Sahara Desert. I discovered that in 1973 this tree met an improbable end when a Libyian truck driver accidentally drove into it even though there were no other trees within 250 miles. The tree perished from the collision.

Tree of Tenere is from a series entitled "Between the Blinds", which begins with a drawing performed on the studio floor using my feet, black roll paper and photo luminescent powder pigment.
